Why Early Learning?
Berkeley County First Steps is committed to enhancing, coordinating and expanding programs and services for children birth to five in Berkeley County.
We provide supports and quality enhancements to existing early childhood programs and plan initiatives that work towards a comprehensive early learning system that ensures all Lowcountry children are safe, healthy, eager to learn, and ready to succeed by the time they enter Kindergarten.
Family & Community Engagement
At Berkeley County First Steps our goal is to promote parent involvement and leadership in family life, schools and communities. We work within our community to:
- Identify and disseminate successful approaches to engaging parents of young children
- Work with funding systems to explore ways to promote successful approaches; and
- Explore ways to increase 4K slots in communities of concentrated need.
