The Incredible Years Parenting Series for caregivers (parents, foster parents, grandparents, nannies, Sunday School teachers, early care professionals) in Berkeley County this summer!

The Incredible Years is an evidenced-based based curriculum that provides strategies that help parents prevent and respond to challenging behaviors. Classes are free and food, child care, and incentives are offered! Berkeley County First Steps will be hosting the following trainings through the winter and spring of  2017. Saturday, January 21st   

Using Language and Literacy in Guiding Behavior:  What do I do with Antonio? – 9:00 -11:00 – Cultivating emotional literacy involves using practical skills for teaching children how to play with others, recognize and express feelings, control anger, and impulsive behavior, and solve problems. This session will help educators engage children so that challenging behavior will decrease.
2.0 hours in Guidance                                        $6

Transitions: Let’s Do Something Different – 11:30 -1:30 – Develop ways to have a smooth, fun-filled day that includes educational transition times.  We will discuss the importance of transitions, how to support children through them, and how to plan them.

Explore Wonder Investigate Science! – 11:30 – 1:30 – Participants will engage in activities designed to highlight a variety of investigation skills and will discuss the 4-step process to develop science experiences in the classroom.  Educators will take away art, science, and sensory activity ideas.
