Family Literacy Program Begins Fall 2016

Beginning in the fall of 2016 BCFS will offer a program designed to engage parents enrolled in GED, ESOL classes through the Berkeley County Adult Education programs. BCFS facilitators will use a family literacy curriculum that will focus on providing parents with emergent literacy tools to use with their children and include topics such as Children’s Writing, Teaching the ABC’s from a DAP lens, and Creating Home Literacy Centers. In addition, workshops connect parents to valuable community resources and encourage them to be active participants in their child’s school.
